A Thousand Years Slavery
A Thousand Years Slavery is a melodic death metal and deathcore band hailing from Montreux, Switzerland. Formed in 2004, the group merges the melodic intensity of Scandinavian death metal with the raw aggression of American metalcore, creating a unique and powerful sound.
The band came together after the dissolution of each member’s previous projects, channeling their collective experience into a new musical vision. In 2006, they released their first 3-track demo, which quickly garnered attention online, amassing thousands of listeners. Later that year, A Thousand Years Slavery had the opportunity to share the stage with The Black Dahlia Murder—an unforgettable milestone in the band’s early career.
In 2008, the band entered the studio to record their debut EP, *A Fury Named Spartan*, produced by renowned Swiss metal producer Vladimir Cochet (known for his work with Mirrorthrone, Weeping Birth, and Unholy Matrimony). The EP delivers a powerful fusion of metalcore and melodic death metal, laced with epic themes and intricate compositions that highlight the band’s technical prowess and dynamic songwriting.
